Is it true that if you have been employed on a temporary contract without any breaks for a full 2 years then your employer must give you a permanent contract?

I dont think that's the case pixi because I have been temping for 4 years at the same company and have never heard of that.. I wish it was true though!!
I think it depends on the Company.  I worked for a high street bank and they definately had this rule (although I think it was 12 months there).  They used to let temps work for 11mths and then get rid.

hi everyone, thanks for your replies, hmmm wasnt sure if it was right or not, I've only worked there a year, but my mates been there 2 years temporary at end of month. Awww well we can always keep our fingers crossed :)
The limit is 4 years, not 2 (and there are certain exceptions).
