bruising from waxing

Not really a question, more of a moan. Was waxed by someone who I assumed knew what they were doing, and had to give up when she kept going over and over the same bit, so I asked her to get the wax off with oil instead. Now left with bruising, but the salon owner seemed very abrupt with me and kept saying the girl was experienced.
I have had waxing for years and never had a problem before, but I felt like they gave me a trainee instead of a qualified beautician.
Okay, moan over, but has this happened to anyone else?
