Well as it seems to be the 'in thing' at the mo I've just booked a session with the hypnotherapist to stop smoking.
It had better be good as it's costing me the price of 400 fags.

Hi Micky. My good tip was to keep a few ciggys where you can see them. You know you have them but its like being an alcoholic I think. I could never smoke just one ciggy, I would be hooked after one. the worse times are when I am on this laptop ato be honest. I would smoke a packet, and not realise how many I had smoked. Mealtimes not too bad. Just get up from the table, and start clearaing the dishes. Trident chewing gum helps for the dry mout moments. Good luck to you.!
Thanks bobbie I still have cigarettes upstairs and know I can smoke anytime, pity it didn't work with the alcohol though, today I had my first drink in a month and earlier was clucking for a ciggie but held out.
good for you micky. I dont drink, (not an alcoholic, in case I gave the wrong impression) Good effort, keep it up,, only you can do it.
Together with family/friend and online support I believe with some will power we all can achieve our dreams and lay down our demons.
Hi Micky, you are absolutely right. Good luck, dont give up trying
Thank you bobbie22, and enjoy your weekend.
Thanks Micky, enjoy yours too
I am very fortunate in that I never managed to smoke - not for the want of trying because it was fashionable in my youth. I just couldn't do it without choking. All my family smoked. My father died of lung cancer at 59, my sister died of heart disease caused by smoking, at 46. I am indeed lucky. However, my husband smoked heavily and gave up a couple of times in his life, the last time for 30 years. He was like a bear with a sore head while he was in the process of giving up but reckoned the only way was will power and cold turkey. Very difficult. I hope you manage to stop craft, lung cancer is not pleasant either to suffer or for those nearest and dearest to watch.

Craft can I ask when your first appointment is and are you expected to give up after the first appointment or is that more a consultation and the giving up will come further down the line?
