starbuck.......me too! LOL
Wrong again squd. I am on my own and over 80 so I got £400. Why do I feel like saying da-da-di-da-da?
starbuck ;-)
Love you too sqad
I suspect that in the current financial climate they will arrange the wedding on a day that is already a public holiday or at the weekend so that they can ease the pressure on businesses - and we will get no day off!!!!
My bet would be May day (1st Monday in May?) or Easter
Perhaps April 1st?
Don't be so negative annie. I expect some poor devils are looking forward to another day off the daily grind just as long as they get paid for it of course. Not me, I am on a permanent holiday. How about commorative mugs filled with chocolates for the children in school. Free of course, paid for by the Queen. I well remember getting one for Edward VIII even though he was never crowned. Lovely - it would make the children remember it in future years. Incidentally, I ate the chocolates rapidly so I wouldn't have to share them with anyone (my brother), don't know what hapened to the mug. I expect it would be worth something now on eBay.
Sorry, I spelt commemorative wrong. Have I done it right this time?
starbuck - there will be no chocolates - too many obese children with bad teeth ;o)
Oh yes, I got carried away there didn't I? Not so deprived as I was then - brought up in the 1930's and chocolates a miracle as far as I was concerned.
I was brought up in the 70's and chocolate was still a treat then. I dont think we got anything for Charles & Diana's but I was in High School then, seem to recall getting something for the Silver Jubilee (a coin maybe?)
As the royal couple are getting married early next year, I bet they scrap May day bank holiday or whitsun to make up for this.
What? No May Queen and dancing round the Maypole? No, no, no, you can't do that. Think of something else please.
stoke, you obviously missed the news item that says that as the millionaires drive past they will be throwing out £5 notes like confetti.
I have heard 13th August mooted, so it would be a weekend anyway.
