Just cleared out the "in" tray in the study and found (amongst various rubbish):

An uncashed cheque for £6.61
an unpaid vets bill for £48.46
and Tesco vouchers for £73.50

making me £31.65 in credit!!! yeah!

Anybody found anything good when tidying up?

did you try to cash it benny? I have often paid in cheques late with no problem.

I love when that happens Jemisa - that's found money so it should be lucky - make sure you buy a lottery ticket with it.

As I was miss-sold the endowment I appealled to the Ombudsman several years ago and got a cheque for nearly £4,000. It wont cover the shortfall but at least its something.

I would - always worth a try.

I complained and got compensation too tigger - I now have a repayment mortgage so I paid the compensation against the mortgage - the endowment is now for the boys for uni if they go - not that it will cover much now.
Living on my own with a baby I can't really afford to switch to a full repayment mortgage so I have a partial repayment. Luckily its not a big mortgage as I bought the house in 1991.

Thats good then tigger - I had to change mine a good many years ago as I wanted a staff mortgage and you could only get repayment as staff. Glad now though.
Always good to think in terms of future benefits.
