Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone could help with my little problem. I currently have hire purchase on a tv and 3 piece suite and have accidental damage cover.
I am wanting to find an insurance company that covers hp but they are required to pay out on a claim as opposed to "new for old".
If anyone can help i would be really grateful.

Kind regards!

It can't be done as you don't actually own the goods until you make the final payment.
If I understand you properly you want an insurance company to replace the goods with brand new ones and you continue making the payments on goods which now belong to the insurance company.
The HP company would have no rights or connection with the replacement goods, so they have lost their property and their security.
my reading of it was that cherry would like the insurance to pay the rest of the premiums if the goods got damaged. I don't think that is possible either because (not saying you would) you could "accidentally" damage them, and then not have to pay for them
plus even on new for old, the insurers do have restictions on some items and would include wear and tear on things like sofas etc

as for the TV (going through it at moment though not HP) they would just supply a new tv with the same specs, wouldnt even have to be same make as ive found out. This would mean that you would still owe all the payments

Morning,

Thanks for your answers. It seems i'll just have to carry on with the insurance provided by my HP company.
They are clever the way they do things, anything to get more money out of you.

Thanks again,
Kind regards!
