I'm like Puffin' Billy here DEN, when I'm mad I always smoke more ....Anyway, Home time. You know where I am if you need me. Having said that, I'm out all day tomorrow. Good luck tomorrow xxxx
Care Coordinators are not generally qualified social workers, unless things have changed. My friend got a job as a care coordinator straight after working as a bank clerk!! She later went on to qualify as a social worker.

By the way Thanks Vibes - I may take you up on the financial advisor. Social Worker also told me the council will have a claim on my Mum & Dads Home.
You know, I've never had a relative in a care home (my grandparents are both 85 and after what I have heard I hope they never need a care home). I am frankly appalled that the management of the care home is so shoddy that all this can go on. I don't blame the staff, since I suspect they are treated pretty badly and paid crap money too.

Whatever happened to showing some respect to the resident and her family and at least allowing her some dignity?!!!

Den, words fail me, they really really do. I just wish you the strength to be able to cope with it and sort it out. x

Thanks Barmaid - I just get my head around one situation and then bam I am presented with another one. Hopefully, if and when we do get Mum into the new Care Home, things will smooth out. But I won't hold my breath.

Peri - how is your Mum doing ?
Den - nothing near as bad as your situation but she causing trouble and has already had one report put on her file - we're having fun !!!!!!!
Question Author
Well Peri - as long as she is not sh......ging another male resident or trying to murder them, then it should be plain sailing What did she do ?
She got aggressive with staff whilst smelling of whiskey - she hasn't set on another resident yet as they are (according to her) all old and half mad

Well thanks for listening everyone - I am off now- got stuff to catch up on.

Now Remember, if I get arrested tomorrow - its all down in writing on AB. hahaha
but if I am in menopause hot flush mode when he arrives, it will be manslaughter !!

Ta Ta xx
Barmaid, the worse time of my life was when I was in much the same position as DEN is now. I also witnessed what went on during the month that my mum was in the Elderly Care ward (where she died). That was equally as bad - I ended up virtually living there to ensure my mother was looked after! I will always have nightmares about the last few years of my Mum's life - it has overshadowed all the good memories of a sociable, intelligent vibrant person. I have been left feeling guilty too, and always will even though people tell me I shouldn't.

Dreadful.

I really feel for poor DEN (and for DEN's Mum who should be treated with dignity as the end of her days).
Oh Den, what a situation to be in.As far as I am aware a care Co-ordinator does not have to be a qualified SW. From the sound of this joker, he's probably not qualified to look after a dead goldfish.
The only advice I can offer is for you to complain long and loud.
Good luck xx
Record the conversation without him knowing, maybe on your mobile phone? It just may help in the future. He sounds a right clown who couldn't get another job. Good luck!

DEN and everyone else who are going through this dreadful plight -I admire you greatly.I cant add anything to whats been said apart from it does help to share, scream whatever on here as there will always be someone here to listen and help xx
