I was kind of caught off balance tonight when the FH (god help him) announced we had dinner guests. Aaaarrrggggghhhh. I've stuck a joint of gammon in a pan in coke a la Nigella. What can I do with the stock? Anyone got any good ideas for a sauce?

Anyone got any ideas for a "stock cupboard" dessert? One of our number can't take milk, butter or cream, so anything I can do that can avoid those is good.

Please help - one guest is already here. One knife is already posed to stab the FH given that he has known about this for a week and told me about an hour ago.

Anyone who suggests "flambeed boyfriend" has my never ending admiration but I need help now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TIA

Roasted male gonads are tomorrows' serving Wolf. I won't do my dirty washing in public and so far have managed to do the "hostess with the mostest".

Grrrrrr.

I've got no bloody fruit bednobs!!!

Do you reckon a bit of the cooking liquid with some flour might cut it?!
probably too late now..... any fruit juice?, add sugar and part freeze it until slushy mash with a fork to break up the ice crystals add a little appropriate alcohol and refreeze until fairly stiff serve like a sorbet with some shortbread....
