MS OUTLOOK 2010 ..... typical setup

I have been quite happy using OUTLOOK 2010 for several weeks.

However, I am not yet familiar with all the various things it can do. Sometimes I am asked to 'setup this' or 'do I want to setup something'. As I'm not too sure, I often find I need to go back and restore the old settings................sometimes, that isn't so easy to do.

Therefore, with my limited knowledge in mind, I sure would appreciate it if someone could advise me of a sort of, "Typical setup," which will usually accomodate most users.

I'm sure it would save me a lot of time changing and resetting.

Thanks for any consideration

Most users will just setup a mail account and that's all you need to do.

what exactly is it asking you to setup after that?

Thanks for the reply ChuckFickens

Don't remember as they were questions associated with the e-mail or way I was composing and e-mail. I have a BT Yahoo! and a Google account setup, and I am pleased with OUTLOOK..............just these da**ed learning curves

As you say, usually just install it and forget it; I am tempted to uninstall MS OUTLOOK 2010, and re-install it with just the defaults.

But, no rush, everything seems okay; it's just that I have to manually activate a SEND/RECEIVE to make sure all e-mail's have been received.

That's the reason for posting the question. I suspect I have setup something incorrectly....................but...........
......what?
Could spend the rest of my life looking.

So, I think I will pick a quiet time and 'Just do it!'

You can set it to send and receive automatically at a set time period.

Thanks ChuckFickens,

But I have changed and rechanged so many times, it may be best if I just re-install Outlook

Will see how things go over the next few days.

I very much appreciate you help. Thanky you very much
