i'm not sure if this should be in health section.

i got my tonsils out a month ago, i was feeling pretty exhasusted after it as i have a 2 year old and a baby to look after so i didn't get any rest after getting out of hospital and i was feeling pretty ill due to low blood pressure, dizzyness and the side effects of being put to sleep also seemed to be making me sick

i know most of the folk i know if they were in hospital they would have thier family round maybe to take the kids out but i've not got that luxury but i've just had to get up and get on with it. some days i've even just lay on the floor with the kids because i've not been able to get up. my partner has been working but has tried to help

i've now got the flu and just feel hellish and have no energy

i've booked the doctors for next week but i'm not wanting to waste his time. it feels so silly going and saying i just have no energy and just not getting time to recover

why would you be wasting their time , thats their job, write down a list of symptoms before you go, and take it with you , hope you feel better soon.
Hi

I had my tonsils out in February and my children were 6 months and just 3 (which is reason enough in itself to be knackered), and after a month and more, I was still feeling poorly, run down and generally knackered, but it's so difficult to look after kids and yourself, they ofcourse come first! I would most definately go to your doctors, that's what they're there for - to help you!

Good luck, hope you're feeling better soon

Hi Numnum - dont know where you live but you should be getting some kind of help maybe from some organisations such as "surestart" - people coming in to see how you are. I know you dont feel up to it now but if you could get onto internet and google - type exactly what you would like and mention where you live - you will be surprised the help that is out there. You do need a few hours of sleep and peace. Let me know how you get on. Get on there - there are loads out there - one of them would be people who would be volunteers to perhaps look after your little ones - they would be all vetted so you wouldnt worry about that. They could take them to the park etc for an hour (something like that) Good luck
another thing you could contact is Foster Care - they would make arrangements for you to have a little respite for a few hours. I know all about this as my neighbour does it all the time. Maybe keeps the little ones overnight or for one day just to give you a bit of time to yourself.

I ended up having to make an emergency appointment at the doctors. Turns out my tonsils are fine.. i have a chest infection.

I just put the reason i've been feeling awful down to the side effects of getting my tonsils out but its been more than that. Thank goodness i got the doctor as I'm feeling very breathless today. My partner is working so its a struggle feeling so breathless

I'll look into that surestart for my area. i just think a couple of days rest to re-charge my batteries would do me the world of good and make me recover quicker rather than everyday being a pest because i don't feel well and i feel sorry for my kids because their not getting out
can your partner not see if he can take some leave from work for a few days?
Possibly you've picked up a post operative infection somewhere. You won't be wasting your GP's time. With two small childen to care for you need to be fit, so rest as much as you can until you can get to your GP. In the meantime, take plenty of hot lemon & honey drinks to keep yourself hydrated, and possibly some paracetamol at night.
