does anyone know where this quote/poem is from? Author &/or origin

as i was going up the stair

i saw a man who wasnt threre,

he wasnt there again today,

i hope i hope he goes away

It's a short verse called "Antigonish" (1899) by a man called Hughes Mearnes (not sure about the spelling of the surname) I think it might be from a collection called "The Psychoed" but that might be wrong. Sorry to be vague.

 

If you Google for "I saw a man who wasn't there", you come up with several sites.  Here's the first one I got:
