Just checked Sterling sub machine gun 9mm calible

i thought sten,but on quizzes and puzzles they suggest bren,having looked it up.either fit the clue,so which is it?

The SMG I referred to took over from the sten gun in the early fifties. The bren gun is a much larger weapon with a tripod. The sten also is the one that uses 9mm ammo.
