This song has just come on to my local radio station (Radio Jackie). How nostalgic is that? Summer of 1976. Best summer ever. Make`s one think about how fast life is passing

One of my favourite songs - him and Kiki Dee (brings back lovely memories of a holiday with my grandparents).
Wasn't it the hottest summer on record?

I have vague memories of it.....I was 3.
It certainly takes you back, but personally I never liked that song..... the sixties were my sunshine era!
The babies born that year at this place, are hung-over & sleeping it out at the moment - after spewing their guts out all day.
I beg to differ Boxy, songs from the seventies are the best! :-)
1976 I was listening to the Miracles and The Real Thing

Dotty -so was I. There were some really good R&B songs out in the 70`s
I just bought a 70's collection set and it's the best ever easy listening songs / music. I love every single song in the set, and they are songs that are so easy to sing along with.
Not saying not, society, there is room for sixties and seventies on my shelves, but the sixites were special for me. Blissful sunshiney innocence!

I remember Johnny Walker announcing the top 20 on a Thursday on radio 1. I can still hear his voice on the radio when I was sitting on my granny`s chicken shed (only place I could get radio reception in the sticks of North Devon) Then the pop charts were repeated on Radio 2 with Ed Stewart on a Sunday. My God, how old am I? How many people would have such fond memories of radio now? Not many, I would think.
I remember Radio Luzembourg under the blankets at night when I was in my teens - how old I am then?!
Yes Boxy, I'm sure there are nice songs from the sixties. And some of them I might like and know too.

Gosh, Box, I remember Radio Luxemburg as well. In the summer of 1976 when I was thirteen, I passed out at the bus stop and ended up in hospital with concussion. As a reward, my mother took me to Timothy Whites in Barnstaple and bought me a radio. i used to listen to it under the bedclothes every night and Radio Luxemburg was a revelation. I remember when they had "Black Friday". i think that`s where I got my appreciation of soul music from
Early Beatles, early Stones.... I've still got the LPs!
So do I -as well as the latest remasters on CD which sound just wonderful!
Bet you know all the words (as I do), Mark - as well as all the intros and outros...!
I do.
She walks! She talks! She crawls on her belly like a reptile!

Seventies people won't even know what I'm talking about. Well, sixties people mightn't either, I suppose.
Let me just get a Coaster for your drink...
this is the one I had in mind...
