How do I open a document in .docx whithout using MS Office 2007 or later?

Freeware Open Office Writer can open docx.

Very many thanks to squarebear, but answer is limited to Office 2003 or earlier, and would not apply to MS Office 2007 and later?
What are you trying to open it with?
MS Office 2007 should be able to handle .docx files
docx is the native format for office 2007 and later, it should open with no extra software.
Freeware Open Office Writer can open docx.

I haven't MS Office 2007 installed only 95, so I think I will have to add Open Office as the quantity of people using .docx is increasing. My thanks to all who responded.
