Can anyone tell me the name of an American children's show that was on in the UK in the 80's?  It involved a teenage girl who lived with her human mother but she had an alien father.  She contacted her father through a green rock that she kept in her bedroom, this usually involved her recounting the 'comedy' mishaps that had befallen her that day.  She had powers that came from her father but that she had to keep secret.

I think the theme tune included the lines 'wish upon a star, carry moonbeams home in a jar' or something like that.  The credits included someone falling of a ladder and her stopping it from falling with her power to freeze (in a similar vein to Piper on Charmed)

Thanks in advance if anyone can help!

I loved this prog - I have mentioned it to others recently but people don't seem to believe me that it was real.

I think the song went " Would you like to swing n a star, Carry moonbeams home in a jar would you like to swing on a star or wuld you rather be on earth"

classic !
