USB pen has created a recycle bin.

I've got a Kingston 2GB USB pen drive. I noticed the other day that even though it only had a couple of files on it that added up to about 100MB I could not put anything else onto it. I looked at the properties and they showed that there was only 95MB free space. I ended up formatting it and got the 2GB free space back again. I then put a movie file approx 800MB onto it and deleted it later but noticed that I still only had 1.2GB of free space. I have got a DVD player that is USB compatible and when I put the pen drive into the DVD player it showed a recycle bin with the movie still in it. The thing is that when I put the pen drive onto the PC I do not see the recycle bin and previously any time I used it when I deleted something it immediately deleted and freed up the appropriate space. Does anyone know where this phantom recycle bin has come from and is there any way to get rid of it so I can use the pen drive normally as before?

Right click on the recycle bin on your desktop and select properties, find the setting that says something like use one bin for all drives and make sure it's selected.

Yep ..
If you mess around with the recycler properties .. and a USB drive is plugged, that is what is likely to happen.

Well the box was already ticked in the recycle properties so I just reclicked it and it formatted the pen again and it seems to have sorted it. Thanks guys.

I'm running this Firefox off of a 16Gb U3 Cruzer pen .. and it's pretty fast. Faster than the IE8 on the HDD.
Keep it tidy and it will work well. Replace after a couple of years of bust use .. as they do wear out (electronically)!

AlBags do you mean you installed firefox onto a USB pen and then when you plug it into your computer you open the directory of the pen drive and run firefox from it? Would all the cookies and stuff like that then be kept on the pen rather than your computer?
