1980's claymation involving a dinosaur...

I was a child of the 80's and I remember every year watching a tape that was recorded on our vhs which is now a mess...It was a claymation film that involved a little boy, a chalkboard and dinosaurs or something. I think the child was the kid from the wonder years, but I am not sure. Anyway, does anyone know what I am talking about?? It is important.
