I Have recently made a payment via my internet bank account to an incorrect sort code - 70-50-06 (typing error) I have contacted my bank but they are taking a bit long to contact me and i need my mind setting at rest.

Is the sort code a valid one? if so which bank has it gone to?

Am i entitled to this money back if the sort code turns out to be correct?

How long will it take to get the money back?

Sorry about the delay I guess you have got your money back by now, the code 70 50 06 does not exist. The 70 code denotes a foreign bank.
You shouldn't have worried anyway - if the digitd didn't match who you were paying (the account holder0, the transfer would not have been completed.

Hi Harley,

I have done the same thing and am frantic.  DID you get your money back - how long did it take, how did it happen etc...

Fanny15, it took about 5 days for the money to come back, erimus is right if the details dont match it is bounced right back. Ive got to say though i found my bank most unhelpful with this and all too ready to charge.
Thx djhasty.  I am still waiting - since the 15th August now.  ....
