I don't have subscribe to Sky now but use the box to watch TV - get quite a few channels extra to the usual for some reason. If I switch everything off for about 6/7 weeks, will I have any problems when I switch back on? I'm not technically minded at all. TIA

If you don't subscribe to Sky you should be able to receive the same channels that you can get via Freesat, I think.

thanks Dodger - I'm concerned about switching it back on once it's been off for six/seven weeks. Was told ages ago not to switch off Sky boxes if poss but of course that may have been wrong.

thank you Fender62 - will do
I moved from the meridian area last October, put the sky box in storage only just found out that I could use it as 'freeview' switched it on and after not being used for nearlt a year it worked. The only difference is I get Meridian news not London tonight but if I want to watch the London news I just switch sky box off and watch the 'normal'TV. And to think I nearly thew it away because I knew I would not go back to sky. Hope that answers your question
