does anyone have a good recipe for soda bread..and if i havnt got any buttermilk in the fridge then what can i substitute it with? as i allready know you need buttermilk..and i am to lazy to go to sainsbury to fetch some..

hi mullein.Found this recipe without useing buttermilk.hope it works.(:)

you can use fake buttermilk. just put a tiny bit of lemon juice into ordinary milk so it splits. just be careful not to use very much or it will taste too citrus.
i do this when making soda or wheaten bread because i can never find buttermilk in england....
