Hi, i'd like to visit Canada/Australia/France and other places, but instead of just "travelling", i'd like to actually do something. Any ideas anyone?

I don't know about Canada or Australia but if you want to work in France you need to be fluent in French unless you do land-work, such as grape picking, asparagus picking etc. There are various seasons for that type of work, when are you thinking of going?

I really don't know when i wanna go... i'm easy on that really. I have a decent grasp of french and pretty sure it would vastly improve in no time..

marcoddy you don't need to be fluent in French or have any real grasp to work in the ski resorts or summer campsites.  Check out for this winter Ski Esprit, Crystal, Ski Tours etc or just look on the net as if you were a Brit looking for a skiing hol.  Contact them this way, say you are keen etc, blag it a bit. For the chalets you will need some skills ie catering or childcare but French is not obligatory since you are looking after the Brits.

For the summer, try Canvas holidays, Keycamp or Eurosites for work as a campsite rep.  Bloody brilliant time either way , though be warned the pay is terrible.

contact the work and travel company online they have all sorts of placements for you to consider they can arrange everything for you aswell, they found me plenty of jobs when I first started takingworking holidays.
