Yesterday I picked up my tumble dryer from my dads garage. It was working there but after we got it home and tried to use it, it trips out the electric. Changed the fuse which entailed changing the whole plug. It doesn't trip out until you turn the dial and then it goes immediately, also if you leave the dial in a so many minutes left position. It's a hoover tumble dryer about a 16 months old, any ideas???

Probably pulling too much and causing a trip possible a short somewhere. Possibly your dads system is less sensitive or doesn't have trip switches. Have you got an electric oven? try it in that socket.

I think you might be right there as recall a hairy incident with a hedge trimmer running off the garage electrics there. Cooker's wired into one of those sealed units. I tried it off loads of other plugs in the house though and got the same result. I'm gonna have to call a bloody man out to fix it arent I?

Does it have more than one heat setting? If it does try it on the low setting and see what happens.
