Are there ANY (!) circumstances in which you would not stand by your real friends ?

If so ... what would be your idea of a "true friend" ?

Just wondering !

A friend will give you an alibi. A true friend will help ypu bury the body.
Many. I might not desert them completely but I think blind loyalty is a fault in friendship and the sort of nonsense you have when you're 15 years old. If you want something to agree with you and always keep silent when you're being a tit then get a dog. Otherwise, if my friends are rude, obnoxious, doing bad (bnut not illegal) things etc (all of which I would like to add they're very much not!) then I'd tell them and expect them to do the same to me. A true friend does not let their friends behave in a manner unbecoming of them or that cause them to lose any dignity without telling them how they are being perceived. A true friend will point out that what you're doing/saying is out of order but still love you anyway and a true friend would never let a friend above a size 14 go out in hot pants! (I saw that the other day)

And if a friend committed a crime, especially something life daffy mentioned, then I would not hesitate in terminating that friendship as they're clearly not the person/friend I thought they were.
My best friend is just that because she came and told me when my bloke was cheating on me and I admire her for that, I DONT admire the people that after we broke up started saying 'well he did this and this'
and I do have an ex best mate who caused alot of trouble by dating my brother and when they broke up she thought I'd be on her side sorry but to me to me its not a done thing
a true friend is one who helps and guides you to do the right and moral thing in the most tragic or catastrophic situations and yet stands by you if you honour their guidance and judgement.
