Has any of the 'find a star' programmes such as xfactor or bgt ever had an already famous singer/entertainer audition pretending not to be themselves and got on or got through or even been rejected as not good enough without the pannel being aware?

These programmes have been going for so long now that I'm sure someone must have at some point tried!!

I haven't heard of anyone doing it.

But i've heard of a couple of celeb look-a-like competitions, where the person has entered, and lost! I think I heard Elvis did it and a few others have tried, and somehow failed.

I would have thought one of the has beens at least would have tried. Or a relatively well known one to do it just for a laugh or publicity stunt.

There has always been the story that Charlie Chaplin entered a Charlie Chaplin lookalike competition and didn't even make the final in the 20s.
