Can I make it any easier for him?

Hey guys,

This may seem like a silly question but here goes!

It is my OHs 40th on Friday, but I dont think he is really looking forward to it..

We have been together since the end of Feb, previous to which he had moved out of his family home at the beginning of Feb. Although we have his 2 kids over every other weekend and take them out one evening each week, he said this morning that he was feeling really sad about Friday.

We will be picking the kids up Friday evening for the weekend, but it will be the first time he has woken up on his birthday and his kids wont be there :-(

I'm guessing I cant really do much as it is going to be pretty tough for him, and as not having kids of my own I dont have a clue how he is feeling, I just want him to be able to enjoy his birthday as much as he can.

Wiggal you are a lovely person...could the kids phone Dad on Friday morning? Is there any cgance that they could come over in the morning as its school hols?
My DH was in hospital on his birthday this year so we just postponed it till he was home, could you move his birthday to the saturday? hope this helps

Hey woofgang, thank you for your reply.

His kids may call him on Friday morning, but I'm guessing not as we will be picking them up in the evening and I dont suppose the kids, being kids will realise how it is for him.

If they could come over in the morning, then it would be good, but he does not have the best relationship with there mum so probably wouldnt want to ask, and I am certainly in no position to be contacting them about it!

Just hope he doesnt mind spending the day with me as he has it off work!

Was going to suggest them making a video for him to say Happy Birthday that you could show him in the morning but if you can't get in touch with them am guessing that would be difficult!

Tell him that an old bat on answerbank sends him birthday wishes , and to think himself very lucky he has you.

He was pretty upset about it today so I told him to text his ex... and he is now picking the kids up at 9pm this eveining :-)
