I've noticed that mine is the only horse to have been targeted by bot flies and I'm continually scraping the eggs off his legs.  Could there be a reason for this and apart from fly repellent is there anything else I can do?

forestertwo, I've only delayed answering because I felt myself not knowledgeable enough. I can't think why your horse and not  the others with which he's turned out is suffering with bots. You're taking them out with that kind of 'razor-comb', I imagine? That's the traditional way, but I can't imagine there's not a spray that would make them drop straight off! Can your saddlery supplier or your vet suggest anything?
Ooh - just thought, forestertwo - loads of nasty insects hate tea tree oil. Dab, not spray it on your lad.
