The terminally tedious "Classic" by Adrian Gurvitz (who goes on to rhyme "classic", "attic" and "addict". I ask you...) If you must know the lyrics, they're at http://www.leoslyrics.com/listlyrics.php?sid=%95E%

Many apologies to Adrian Gurvitz fans, but this is one of the few songs I actively hate...

just messin with the rating, but it is a gud song, lol.
Adrian Gurvitz had been around for years in (heavy! credible!!) bands like Gun and Baker-Gurvitz Army (with his brother Paul and ex-Cream drummer Ginger Baker) before he had *that* hit. Not sure what he's been upto since. Maybe he's still in that attic? And just to be sure - it's 'Got to write a classic'!
Just to pipe up from pedants corner the opening lines are surely "Gonna write a classic, Gonna write it in an attic"
No, it's got to be "Gotta ride a classic, gotta ride it in an attic". It's a song about motorcycling in confined spaces. ;-)
Marc Riley swiped that line for his song "Shirt Scene" and rhymed it with "drop another tab of acid." It's a pretty funny song.
