I resgned on the 24th...sent my resignation in

However a couple of things

1 - I was on annual leave at the time i got an interview and then the job offer the next day(24th of august)
2 - I still have i think 10 day anual leave remining

Now they seem to be thiniking that the date of my resgination starts from when my anual leave ended (29th)

But i'm pretty sure that my final day is two weeks from the day i handed my notice in...

Anyone help or clarify on this?

Your notice begins the day the letter is received.

If they have responded to your notice in writing they may well have quoted the date they received the notice.  I think its fair for them to take this date if it was posted and delayed.

Your annual leave is pro-rota.  So if your leave year starts from April 1st then and you are entitled to say 24 days you will gain 2 days leave per month so by the 24th August you will have gained 10 days leave although they may say 9.  If you have taken leave you need to deduct the days taken from this total.

Thanks..thats cleared things up a bit

I'm not too fused if they say i've in effect used up any anual leave...just like to know where i stand
Not questioning mrs_Pegasus at all, but my simple advice, in addition to her words of wisdom, is to always check your contract!  If you don't have one in this job, then make darn sure you get one in your next.  And also, just ask your boss!  :-)  Good luck in your new job.

I don't know th answer to your question but hwen looking for some employment advice myself i found a great site where an employment barrister explained the issues in like a video conference sort of thing (sorry not sure what the correct term is) but the good bit was it only cost me 4.99

good luck
