With these teachings, how is it that any woman follows the Catholic Faith?

Perhaps some would care to comment?

Mrs Zeuhl was brought up a Catholic - well they tried to anyway - and she has never understood why any woman would want to have anything to do with them!

BTW

When she was about 13 after several years of resistance to the nuns etc, they sent a young good looking priest for a last-ditch attempt at redeeming her.
When she explained to him in a forthright manner that she thought it was all dangerous nonsense his response was;

"I know it is but if you just say you believe you'll make your mum happy, that's all the rest of us do". !!!
.
Most women I know would defend any position they had adopted with BECAUSE. OK? Spect the same applies here.
“The “attempted ordination of a woman” to the priesthood was seen as a “grave crime” to be treated under the same set of rules as those for paedophile clergymen.”

Speaks volumes really.

The Catholic Church likes to pretend that it's a loving, giving, benevolent institution which has the best interests of all the human race at it's heart.

Of course, this is yet another colossal lie from an institution that spreads the monstrous lie (to the whole world) that condoms actually increase the incidence of AIDS; that through the act of transubstantiation, a mass manufactured unleavened wafer LITERALLY becomes the flesh of Jesus Christ Himself (thereby allowing and encouraging the faithful to indulge in cannibalism); that the 'punishment' for child rape should be a life of personal reflection and prayer; etc.

I know that the above doesn't answer the initial question, “... how is it that any woman follows the Catholic Faith?”

I don't know. I've never been able to understand why people who are clearly despised by a particular religious order feel that it's the one for them. I find it truly bizarre that a woman, knowing that the Catholic Church sees her as nothing more than a mere vessel for carrying babies, would want to join the ranks.

It's the same for homosexuals. I've read many articles by people who start by saying something along the lines of, “... I realised that I was gay and I didn't know what to do about it, so I joined the Christian / Islamic faith to try and make sense of it all...”, and who are then 'shocked' by the level of intolerance shown to them.

It's a radical idea but shouldn't all religious buildings have to have a huge neon sign above their entrances which state, “Alert! Massive prejudices await within Do not enter without first looking into what we believe. You have been warned” ?

Why would someone do that? Unless they've lived under a rock for the past umpteen years this'd be the last thing a gay person would do.
Being an Irish non practising catholic I am not offended by this comment to woman as I am strong and confident in my own right - what does offend me is the comparison with child abuse cases - what a complete and total insult to them
I was born into the catholic religion and have not dabbled in it for many a year.

Why would I associate myself with a cult that elects as its head a nazi who shuffled, and maybe still does, paedophiles from parish to parish?
