I've written a short booklet which is in .pdf form (i converted it using some Family Tree software) so I can't actually edit the thing to split it into smaller chunks. I want to email this booklet but it is a whopping 55,000 KB. I've compressed it using the compression tool in Windows Vista but it's still 44,000KB. Is there any way I can compress the thing further since there is no way I can email something of this size, my poxy little mail server will turn its toes up.

And if I can't compress it further, is there a hosting site where I could upload it so that my cousin can pick it up off there?
Barmaid... try Yousendit.com.

Use the 'send a file, try it now' box on the left for free.

https://www.yousendit.com/
Or look at the 'free trial' tab at the top of the page...
Plenty of free website out there if you want to sign up for one. And hosting sites too.
But if you checked the public domain software sites you will also find applications that can split a large files into parts, for the far end to reassemble into a single file again later.
PDF Split and Merge ( www.pdfsam.org/ ) will let you split it into smaller chunks.

aha thank you all! I appear to have solved that particular problem.
There's also
http://www.rapidshare.com/
which will let you send up to 500MB for FREE.
