Don't exaggerate - it'll "only" be £10M, not 12 - tut, tut.
The current Pope pretty much disgusts me, together with the upper echelons of the Catholic church.

However, there are plenty of Catholics in this country who adore him and will get great pleasure out of his visit - and if it makes them happy, so be it.

...as long as Madonna gets the same treatment the next time she tours the UK.
Orcadian The Guardian says the Pope's visit is expected to cost £15 million of which £2 to £4 million may be paid by the RC church . Therefore 4 million catholics 9% of the population will receive about £12 million from the taxpayers, to greet their boss.
