I have written to my solicitor to complain about the way he has handled my case. He has not provided details of costs...they are 50% over the initial and only estimate. So many things. His response is that he threatens to sue me for libel if I dont apologise to him. My complaints I believe are all valid. I have spoken to legal complaints. Is this my only option ?

He can't sue you for libel unless you have published your complaints in writing. Sending a letter to him making the complaints is not publishing them. In any case, you would have a complete defence if what you said was true - although proving this in Court could be difficult. Perhaps he is jusy trying to frighten you into paying up?

Definitely, follow the complaint route Chris suggests.
