bit like chicken breast - you can get mince, 'fillets' or pieces
I think I'll get the mince one of these days and give a curry a go!
Question Author
my brother's wife's sister is vegetarian so far i've made her a quorn mince chilli, done stuffed peppers and tonight she'll have an authentic Birmingham Balti
Bigfoot...I use the Quorn peices for a quick curry or even better-a stirfry. It's important not to cook Quorn too long-it seems to toughen up a bit. 15 minutes simmering is plenty.
IS there a minimum time for cooking quorn? Any risk of odd flavour or bacteria if undercooked or can you just throw it in last minute like prawns?
It usually says on the packet to allow to simmer for 15 minutes once you have all your sauce ingredients blended. I imagine that is the optimum amount. Not sure about bacteria, tho Qourn is derived from a type of fungus. I quite like it as it is very low in fat,and quite similar to chicken.
I;ve got canneloni here, yum.
Hi boxy - I love canneloni! Please may I come around to yours tonight?
It runs out tomorrow lardy, that's why I have to eat it - but yes, you are welcome!
Thanks boxy - see you in a mo!
