I have a USB flash drive which is full. It says it has a 489.7MB capacity and I need larger. As they are sold in GB, which GB capacity do I need? Thanks.

The larger, the better. Your current one is roughly 0.5Gb.
There are 1,000MB in a GB. So as has been said, you have HALF a GB (Gigabyte).

You can buy USB flash drives in all sorts of sizes, 1GB, 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB etc

Obviously the larger it is the more it costs.

You may be better buying 2 or 3 smaller ones (2GB or 4GB each) than one huge one in case you lose it.
