sorry i clicked enter before i finished the question. My question was :- It has come to my knowledge that someone placed an advert and tried to sign up for credit using my address. I paid to have a credit rpoert and was relly miffed to find that they dont supply this info about anyone else on your report. what use is this? -Does anyone know how I can find this out, surely a search must have been done. -thanks

I've always thought that Experian Credit Report thing was a rip off. Why do I need to pay them to tell me if I've got a good credit rating - I know already!

I knew I had a good credit rating, and then my Argos store card was declined. Argos didnt give me a reason just said to check my credit report. i knew it was OK and I have written to Argos for an explanation. I just thought it might have been that someone else had got something and not paid. Credit expert is useless. I thought I was going to be able to find something out. Surely to help prevent fraud they should be able to tell you if searches have been done in other names ?

The search will be on you plus anyone who is deemed to have a financial association with you. I would have expected the report to tell you whether anyone was deemed to have such an association even if they understandably won't divulge any information about that person's credit

if your record is wrong - or someone has used your identity you need to get it corrected as all future credit applications can be affected.. and can cause you a real nightmare!

I have been very pleased with Experian. I've used them several time, the first time there were loads of people associated with me so I contacted them to get them taken off - the next one was up to date.

Thanks for the replies, but credit expert have responded to a 2nd query and they assure me that they ever give info like this . no-one can apply for info on another person, only that person can apply. this would mean me having to contact them and get them to produce a credit report, which is ridiculous.I have not been able to find any other way of doing this. If anyone has ever been able to do this i would love to know. My experience came about by letting someone stay at my house while i was away for a while. Any more advice would be very welcome.
