The "twist" is that 9 coloured squares must also each contain one of the numbers 1-9. If the coloured squares are in the proper position how could they not? Can there be more than one way to solve a sudoku puzzle?

It's possible to construct a sudoku with more than one solution, but such puzzles are normally considered to be invalid.
