yep - just ring them but beware! they will try to entice you with fabulous offers of cut prices and special deals. Just tell them you don't want their rubbish movies and would they kindly desist - they may sound sad but be stong, you will win in the end
We downgraded and dropped the movies, then we downgraded to just the basic package, now we dropped sky completely - most of it is just repeats anyway!!!!

It should be, but it's not.

We've got the top package and hardly ever watch the movies.

We tried to downgrade in the past only to be told we can only downgrade on the day the payment goes out and to ring back then.  Ultimately we forgot, and still keep forgetting, hence we still have the movies.

We were with telewest at our last property and it was never a problem with them, they just credited us with any outstanding payment.  But with Sky it's just a way to get extra money out of you.

We can't get telewest around here, only Sky, otherwise we would be with them.  Far better service and price than sky.

I was at my mates house last night and rang sky for her, she was paying 41 for the top package, we managed to take the movies off, sports and disney which left the Family Pack, 19.50 now but 21 from 1st Sept.  They said the D/D for Sept. had already been applied for so the one due Oct 1st would just be for a pound or so as they would credit her, but they switched the movies etc off within 20 mins!  Anyway, the family pack gives u all the good stuff .

Thanks for all the answers, I really only need the sports channels, and will call and change my package imminently.
you can also do it online at http://www.sky.com
Elgoucho, by removing only the movies and keeping the sports channels, I dont think theres much of a saving - we went from the full ackage dropping the premium channels and it want any problem - they never did offer me any sweeteners though to keep it going - the added bonus we have is that the TV reception here is awful, so I have to use Sky for all the terrestrial channels also.
I had a doorstep visit aswell from SKY recently seeing if I wanted to recommend anyone etc. and the caller told me that within the next 2 years all analogue coverage is going to be "killed off" and the cost of a new SKY installation will rocket.
