Disabled bay illegal parking

Can anyone tell me the legal position concerning blue badge ,disabled bay, off street parking on a free car park that belongs to several businesses like Mother Care and B& Q. My daughter who was carrying two babies in her arms wrongly parked in a disabled bay and received a ticket . Not from the a council warden but a private company . Who may or may not be genuine . Either way is it valid ? I have read regulations on the web and it is confusing . Can anyone help so I can advise her ? Thank you .

Update I thought you would like to know what has happened which paradoxically has made me and my daughter quite satisfied. Apparently many drivers were getting away with the penalty because of lack of signs. You may remember I said she was in the wrong but that the ticket may not have been genuine and she didn't want to pay a bunch of crooks.
I also said # I know this car park and I know that there aren't any signs detailing any charges or penalties. #. I was right there weren't any signs the last time I was there a few weeks ago . However now there are, they have just put up proper signs and employed a company to enforce it . Which makes me happy as a disabled driver I will find a vacant bay more easily and my daughter knows her fine is not a scam.

You can't use any ones blue badge joeluke. Your badges will be taken off you if caught.

Tesco had their own car park attendant and mother and child and disabled used both spaces
Private firm took over and we were warned only to park in the appropriate bays or we would face a fine and joelook it is illegal to use someone else's blue badge

The blue badge scheme only applies to Council controlled highway anyway - private landowners don't have to observe the blue badge scheme if they don't want to, or they are allowed to apply restrictions to who can park where provided, as others have said, that these restrictions are clearly displayed.
