My laptop has started going off on its own. It gives no warning at all, it can be running absolutely fine and then it will suddenly go off. In order to turn it back on I need to remove the power, Disconect the battery and then reconnect it. This usually happens once it has been on for a while, which makes me think it is overheating, the casing around the fan does seem very hot, but the fan is working.
It is a Toshiba Satalite A210
Can anyone help please.
Thanks

Have you used a vacuum cleaner on the fan vent to remove dust? That worked for me last year.
The fan may be working, but if the air vents are blocked in some way it will still overheat.

get a vacuum cleaner and give it a good sucking round all the air vents, also make sure you are using it on a flat solid surface (i.e. not on your lap (yes I know they are called laptops, your not meant to use them on a lap though!))
