perhaps nothing like this exists...I'm looking for a special pressie for my mum for Christmas. She loves nature- flowers and trees particularly and I'd love to get her a flower named after her or somesuch...maybe a tree she can plant or something? Don't know exactly what but something natural that's a bit special. Can anyone give me any ideas and where to get it? Thanks.

thank you- the tree is a great idea
You're thinking about christmas presents already?! I am late or are you early?!
Maybe you could get her a flower presser? It is a wooden device that you can get from craft shops where you can pick flowers and press them in the device for a few weeks or so until they are dried out and flattened, but still just as pretty as when they were growing. They can then be used to make greetings cards, calenders, wrapping papper, etc. Quite entertaining and great for nature lovers!

Alixw- don't worry it's just me!

What a thoughtful daughter you are!  (Sorry - I'm assuming you're female!)

How about a rose bush?  There is a wonderful variety of names to choose from - a lot of ladies first names and also names like 'Lovely Lady', 'My Mum' and 'Simply the Best'.

Have a look at the following for some inspiration and maybe you can find something appropriate: (there is an A-Z list on the second site below)

Does your local park allow you to purchase a sapling and plant it (with a plaque).   Try contacting your Council's Parks Department.   I believe the prices are fairly reasonable.
