I have grown Salpiglossis for the first time this year but unfortunately they have gone a bit leggy. Can I cut them back without doing harm?

As some salpiglossis can be used as cut flowers I expect it will be ok, try just taking about a third of the straggly growth back first and if the palnt reshoots then you know it will be safe to do the rest. As the salpiglossis is one of the nightshade family try using your prunings as cuttings there is a strong possibility they could root
