....even pigeons? I do, but some I know try to deter them from their gardens.

As far as I'm concerned they are all God's creatures (if you believe in God) & deserve to be fed like anyone else.

I really enojoy watching them drinking from the bird baths & fish pond too.

We feed all the birds with seeds, nuts grounded small, apples,I make fat balls in winter out of lard seeds and nuts, people do forget that pigeons saved a lot of lives during the war years, they are as you say all Gods creatures.
Let's say that I'm not a believer in a God as such but I do believe that every living crerature on this earth has a part to play and as such should be treated with respect. The creature who does the most damage is man, unfortunately. We have developed to be the most capable and most intelligent and have abused these extra powers.
I love all birds too!
I feed them bread and scraps every day of the year, and I find that left over cooked rice is their favourite meal. There is never anything left, as they very quickly scoff the lot.!!
Yes Smudge,we feed all the birds, seeds, ground peanuts, apples and in Winter months I make fat balls ouf of lard nuts and seeds, and people seem to forget that pigeons helped save many lives during the war years,I don't get them in my garden but if I did they would sure get fed.

Didn't realise I had further answers after my last post, so thanks to you all.

Even though it's been pouring with rain all morning, we've had a pair of collared doves back & forth, pecking away at the seed on the patio - wonderful to watch! ♥
