For the last couple of weeks my index finger on my right hand seems to be swelling slightly. Also were I can make all my other fingers bend in to touch my hand I cannot bend this finger as much and it is painful to try this. We had a stag do at the end of march and there was a lot of play punching going on but this problem has only developed over the last 2 or 3 weeks so I don't know if that would be a reason ie that its broken. I do plan on going to the doctor some day maybe next week but am just looking to see what people may think it could be.

If it doesn't get any better get it checked out for any injury which needs looking into or for the possibility of anything like arthritis.

I'm 31 and had it for a while now so just keep an eye.

Hope it gets better soon!
I am going to let molly have my spare uniform.♥

Get better soon flobadob ♥

As a man I'm putting the doctor's visit on my to do list. I'm sort of hoping it just goes away.
flobadob.....if you are putting the Drs visit "on hold" then take Ibuprofen 400mgms twice daily.

Sqad will that do anything for the swelling or would it just be for the pain. Cos the pain isn't really too bad, it's just that I am losing the grip in the index finger. It's a bit annoying to hold a cup, it sort of is just dangling off the finger.
Yes it will help with the infammation.

I'll throw in a couple now then, cheers.

By the by, would applying heat or cold to the affected area help or hinder it in any way?
Wouldn`t apply heat if there is swelling, cold may work but you will only know if you have a try.
Question Author
I feel like the tablets have helped a bit.
Glad to hear that.

PS Do ignore the uniform LOL
Question Author
The uniform is causing some swelling.
Flo badob. I have had similar problems with the index and third finger of my right hand. My GP says it could be authritis because of my age ( 150 years older than you) but at your age it could be trapped nerves or as you say it could be broken. The only way is to get it checked out at a hospital.Good luck.
