I have an Acer Aspire 7520 which now has a black screen. I have been told that the bios needs to be flashed. I have downloaded flashit.exe onto a new USB mem stick, as suggested and held down Fn and Esc whilst switching on the PC After about five seconds I then release the keys and await the activity light on the memstick to flash to show flashing the bios but it doesnt show any activity. Can anyone help with this process?
I appreciate any advice CG

If this is the small 'Netbook' then there is a known problem with cabling to the screen. I had one and started to lose areas of the screen due to the cable disintegrating. I took it back and got a Dell Netbook (which also had problems ... )

Thank you for your advice but I dont think this is a connection problem. I have been on several sites and all seem to suggest that the bios needs to be flashed in the way I described above there is even a youtube vid that explains how to flash the bios using a mem stick but for some reason, the mem stick does not show activity in my case
Many thanks for your advice though
