How can I stop my car CD player from skipping? I've tried using a cleaner CD (with brushes on it). It's got worse as it's got older, but it's only a couple of years old.

Car CD players, like any other CD player are highly sensitive to any vibration, or even slight knocks and bangs which can push the laser beam out of alignment. It sounds like this is the problem with your player. If you take your car into a car hi-fi dealer, they should be able to check the beam alignment and make the necessary adjustment to return your in-car sounds to their former glory.
The best advice i can give you is ... stay parked.
