I am almost sure that my business partner has not the right to work or engage in any business in the UK. However he managed to get 50% of the business using his driving licence as a form of ID. Can I sue him for fraud by misrepresenting himself in order to get the business?

why did you go into business with him if you dont think hes able to work in the UK?

and how does anyone get a business using a driving licence? If it was his licence then how is that fruadulent?

We bought the business from someone else. I got 50% and he got the other 50%. The solicitor asked for proof of ID and he used his driving licence. All the paperwork was done and we started working until a friend asked me how he managed to get the business because he knows for sure that he has neither indefinite leave to remain in the UK nor work permit. Three different people claim the same as they have seen him in police where all the assulym seekers go and sign every month. Anyway the point is not HOW he got the business My point is: can I sue him for fraud?
