We have about 30 or so of these set into the grass, while the mover will go over the tops of them, they still need cutting round to give a neater look. They're circular, which although looked nice at the time is a pain to tidy them up.

I was thinking of asking local blacksmith if he can knock up a circular cutter I can put over the top & press down on to make the job a lot quicker. Any metal workers or similar know how much this'd cost me? and what sort of metal to get him to make it out of? Thanks

Well if I was making it, about £20 but most fabricators will want more than that I imagine. Good luck.

use a strimmer
A strimmer would do the job perfectly, I could actually make a device as you describe but not really very practical, any welder/fabricator could make such a thing and would probably have the material on the shelf already.

Thanks Beejay and Ratter. The strimmer doesn't actually do the job that well, I've tried and failed! What do you reckon it would cost, for a giant size pastry cutter?
