It's taken good old U.S. 12 years to decide to whack Saddam. Why? And is there a cat in hell's chance of U.S. withdrawing it's troops without killing, after they spent so much cash getting assembled?

If the aim of the US was really to get rid of Saddam I'm sure that, with all their money and resources, they could bump him off (including all of his doubles, if necessary). My guess is that what will actually happen is that countless numbers of poor Iraqi peasants will get whacked while Saddam will escape to a life of luxury somewhere else. I wonder who will be the next world number one enemy after Osama and now Saddam (both previously supported by the US)?
