my dvd recorder has just broken and i was planning to buy a digital recorder and want to know can i record annalogue tv chanels as well as freeview my telly is just analogue and has a seperate freewiew box or can i buy a recorder with freeview that plays dvds as well.

Forget about analogue. It's gone very soon.
Freeview reecorders don't do analogue.
You could buy one of these .. nice .. but expensive.

If you may want HD .. either buy a TV with it built in, or wait a while o see what pans out : )
Why not buy a freeview box with digital recorder? You don't need to worry about recording from analogue as all the analogue channels are also on Freeview. With one of these you can record one programme whilst watching another (or record two at the same time, but you would have to watch one of those - but you can do this when you're not in, which is handy), and you can also set it to record a whole series, which is very useful. Then just buy a bog standard DVD player.
