In selecting an alloy wheel to suit my tyres (185/60 R15) what is the meaning of the term 15 X 6 ?

Rims of 15" diameter and 6" width.
Your tyres 185/60 R15 have a rim diameter of 15", a width of 185mm and a profile of 60% of the width. The rims 15 x 6 are 15" diameter and 6" width.
